kokua auction reminder

now that the thanksgiving holiday is behind us, i just wanted to post a little reminder that the second kokua auction ends tonight. hopefully, the reason there are no bids yet is that everyone was busy with holiday preparations last week. remember this is a fabulous way to scoop up a sweet mix of stocking stuffers and spread a little charity love this holiday season!

thanks for reading!

free rice

since rice is such a staple in island homes, here's a little diversion that has been making the rounds online. test your wordsmith skills at free rice and, for every word you get correct, 10 grains of rice will be donated to the united nations world food program (3 billion grains of rice have been donated since the game kicked off last month).

happy thanksgiving!

kokua lot no. 2 (est. retail value: $75):

the opening bid is under $25 and remember shipping is on me if you live in the states (international bidders pay a flat shipping rate of $5 usd).

kitchen kokua

as the year begins to wind down, the annual ritual of gathering up charitable donations from around the house goes into overdrive. slow food oahu currently has a call out for gently used kitchen gear for a december culinary sale. proceeds from the sale will go to help send island farmers to slow food nation next year.

the wish list includes pots and pans, dishes, glassware, linens, cookbooks, kitchen tools, etc.
