haagen-dazs goes hawaiian

Foodiehaagendazslehua_honeyv02

spotted this weekend: a pint of haagen-dazs reserve ice cream in the freezer case at my neighborhood grocer. and since i swoon each and every time i hear the tale of 'ohi'a and lehua, i just couldn't resist scooping up my very own pint of hawaiian lehua honey ice cream.

my fella snuck in a few spoonfuls and we both agree it is yummy. i do hope the honey is really sourced from the big island as the packaging claims.

to get your own lehua honey ice cream fix, click over to h-d to find out if the reserve series is stocked at your local market. if not, online ordering is available via ice cream source.

I know I won't be able to get this in Japan, so I'll just drool over the pic you have here.

kat, you are definitely not the only one who can't get their hands on a pint. ryan at hawaii blog discovered, via the h-d flavor finder, that the lehua honey ice cream does not seem to stocked in the islands.

my diy ice cream fix would be to drizzle 'oh'ia lehua blossom honey from big island bees over roselani's hawaiian vanilla bean ice cream. i bet that would be even more 'ono!

We have it here in LA and it is sooooooo good! We went out for sushi and picked up a pint for dessert, The carton never made it into the freezer!!

that is nuts! not to even have it in the islands!!
